Homemade Lychee Lemonade: A Sweet, Floral Twist on Fresh Lemonade
There’s something special about making lemonade from scratch—but adding fresh lychee takes this classic drink to an entirely different level.
This Homemade Lychee Lemonade combines the bright, tart flavor of fresh lemons with the naturally sweet, floral taste of lychee and a touch of honey. The result is a smooth, refreshing drink that feels tropical, elevated, and perfect for warm days.
Using the JUTO Juicer makes it easy to extract fresh juice and create a homemade drink without relying on bottled lemonades loaded with added sugars and artificial flavors.
🍋 Homemade Lychee Lemonade Recipe
Makes approximately 4–6 servings
Ingredients
- 20–25 fresh lychees, peeled and seeds removed
- 4 large lemons, peeled
- 3–4 cups cold filtered water
- 2–3 tablespoons honey, or to taste
- Ice
- Fresh lemon slices for serving, optional
- Extra peeled lychee for garnish, optional
How to Make It
1. Prepare the lychee.
Remove the rough outer skin from each lychee and carefully remove the seed from the center. You only want the soft white flesh.
2. Prepare your lemons.
Peel the lemons, removing most of the outer yellow rind and as much of the thick white pith as practical. Removing the peel helps keep the juice from becoming overly bitter.
3. Juice everything.
Add the prepared lychee and lemons to your JUTO Juicer, alternating between the two ingredients as you juice.
4. Add honey.
Pour the fresh juice into a pitcher. Add 2 tablespoons of honey and stir thoroughly. Taste and add more if you prefer a sweeter lemonade.
5. Add water.
Pour in 3 cups of cold filtered water and stir. For a lighter lemonade, gradually add another cup until you reach your preferred strength.
6. Serve cold.
Add plenty of ice and pour into glasses. Garnish with fresh lychee or lemon slices and enjoy immediately.
Why Lychee + Lemon Works So Well
Lychee has a naturally fragrant, almost floral sweetness. Lemon brings acidity and brightness, creating a balance that keeps the drink from tasting overly sweet.
Honey rounds everything out without overpowering the delicate lychee flavor.
The combination gives you a lemonade that’s familiar enough to be refreshing but unique enough to feel like something you’d order at a specialty café.
🍈 What Is Lychee?
Lychee is a tropical fruit recognizable by its textured pink-red exterior. Once peeled, you’ll find translucent white flesh surrounding a large seed.
Its flavor is sweet, juicy and floral, which makes it especially good for beverages.
Fresh lychee also provides nutrients including vitamin C and copper, along with naturally occurring plant compounds.
Because lychee is already naturally sweet, you may find that this recipe needs much less added sweetener than traditional homemade lemonade.
Benefits of the Ingredients
Lychee
Lychee isn’t just bringing sweetness to this recipe. It’s also a source of vitamin C, which contributes to normal immune function and helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
Its high water content also makes it particularly refreshing in fresh drinks.
Lemon
Fresh lemon gives this recipe its signature lemonade flavor while providing vitamin C.
The acidity of lemon is especially important here because it cuts through lychee’s sweetness and creates a much more balanced drink.
Honey
Honey provides sweetness with a distinctive flavor that pairs beautifully with both lemon and lychee.
You can easily adjust the amount depending on the sweetness of your fruit. Start small—you can always add more.
Water
Don’t underestimate this ingredient.
Freshly juiced lemon and lychee can create a concentrated flavor. Cold filtered water transforms that concentrated juice into a smooth, refreshing lemonade.
Why Make Your Lemonade Fresh?
One of the biggest advantages of homemade lemonade is control.
You decide exactly how sweet it is.
You decide how much water goes into it.
You decide whether you want more lemon, more lychee, or no added sweetener at all.
And most importantly, you’re starting with actual fruit.
It’s a simple reminder that healthier routines don’t always need to be complicated. Sometimes it’s as easy as replacing a bottled drink with something you made fresh in your own kitchen.
Make It With the JUTO Juicer
The JUTO Juicer makes recipes like this especially simple because you can process multiple fresh ingredients and create your own juice combinations at home.
For this recipe, alternate your prepared lychee and lemon while juicing. Once you’ve collected the juice, the only thing left to do is add honey, water and ice.
Fresh fruit → juice → mix → enjoy.
That’s it.

Ways to Customize Your Lychee Lemonade
Once you’ve made the original recipe, there are plenty of ways to make it your own:
- Sparkling Lychee Lemonade: Replace some or all of the filtered water with chilled sparkling water.
- Lychee Mint Lemonade: Muddle fresh mint into your glass before pouring.
- Strawberry Lychee Lemonade: Juice strawberries alongside the lychee.
- Coconut Lychee Lemonade: Add a splash of coconut water for an even more tropical flavor.
- Ginger Lychee Lemonade: Juice a small piece of fresh ginger with the fruit for a spicy finish.
- Frozen Lychee Lemonade: Blend the finished lemonade with ice for a frozen summer drink.
Storage
Fresh lychee lemonade tastes best immediately after making it, but leftovers can be stored in a sealed container or pitcher in the refrigerator.
For the freshest flavor, enjoy it within 2–3 days and stir well before serving, as natural separation may occur.
